Thank you for your interest in checking out this page. This is the start of what we hope to be a successful expansion of what Springfield Parks and Recreation has to offer area adults and youth. We have a lot of ideas and experience to make something like this successful, but we need you for it to be a club. Over the next couple months we hope to bring people together to form this club. Get in early to help build this into something you want to be a part of. Come share or build on your interest in science and history through all digging hobbies; metal detecting, gold panning, bottle digging, rock hounding, or anything related to these topics.
This Program is open to all area adults and youth. If you are willing to travel to Springfield monthly we welcome you. Future events will be focused towards all towns members are from. Not just Springfield.
Due to the make up and content of this program any youth below the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
What we hope to accomplish:
- Provide recreational program to area adults and youth that goes beyond athletics.
- Build community, fellowship, and stewardship through our hobbies.
- Host two club/family events annually.
- Host one annual fundraiser event, open to the public, to benefit the club and/or a local organization.
- Bring in speakers, or have member speakers throughout the year to share knowledge with others.
- Develop relationships with area governments, landowners, businesses, and organizations
- Share our finds and discoveries monthly
What needs to be done:
- Build participation
- Elect adult and youth leadership
- Decide on a club name and Logo
- Develop club bylaws/rules
- Determine an annual membership fee schedule
Hope to see you at our first meeting November 16th 5-7pm at the Springfield Community Center 139 Main St. Springfield, Vt 05156
